During this milestone, we encountered a problem surrounding the diagnosis.

While many other patients had issues requiring a new hip prothesis, our patient required the adjustment of a previous one. After long research, we discovered the problem with our patient wasn’t evident in the patient profile but rather in the x ray.

<aside> ✅ It is important to be very meticulate in diagnosing patients. Visual clues can be just as useful as verbal ones.

This experience taught me an important lesson about biomedical engineering. As much as this area is logically and mechanically based on devices, it is also a biomedical field meaning the patient body itself is also just as important.
